The basic formula for research question is:
How does x relate to y?
and/or impact y?
and/or cause y?
A good research question includes an additional component to make it more specific, such as a place, time, or group of people. (See the five w's.)

Use quality, professionally produced sources to familiarize yourself with the topic (not just Google and Wikipedia).

Consider these questions:
Ask yourself open-ended questions to focus your topic. You don't have to answer all of the questions. Some might not apply or be helpful.
