SOC 222: Social Research Methods: Home

Literature Review Requirements:
You will be required to conduct a review of literature directly related and applicable to your overall research question. You will then explain how your research question grows out of the initial review by identifying gaps in the research. The literature review process will involve:

• Identifying and formulating a research question that defines what you'd like to learn
• Knowing how to search for scholarly literature using online library resources (e.g. peer-reviewed journal articles and books)
• Evaluating and Analyzing information found
• Synthesizing new knowledge into a written literature review
